APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT Where tiles have been fixed with an adhesive, grouting should not commence for at least 24 hours. On low suction/ non porous backings the time interval should be extended to a minimum of three days. For exterior work, it is important that water is not allowed to penetrate the open joints before grouting is commenced. It is not necessary to wet joints before applying Sika® Tile Grout.  

Zentrival® HS Polymer based, waterproof ready to Use tile Adhesive for bonding of heavy tiles, granite, stone, insulation boards, etc. Application Notes General Zentrival® HS is a ready to use polymer based tile adhesive. Zentrival® HS retains bonding strength over time. Zentrival® HS is suitable for absorbent as well as non-absorbent surfaces. One of the greatest advantages of fixing marble slabs with Zentrival® HS is the total avoidance of the iron staining of marble, which is a common occurrence when any cement based adhesive is used. Zentrival® HS is suitable for fixing of conventional tiles as well as marble, granite, stone slabs for exterior claddings. While fixing the tiles, thin bed method or spot bonding method can be used. Fixing tiles with Zentrival® HS replaces the conventional tiling method of using cement mortar of about 15 to 20 mm thickness. It also solves lack of adhesion that is common with cement mortar while fixing stone, marble tiles etc. Zentrival® HS has inbuilt flexibility which counteracts thermal stresses in external claddings. On account of its easy workabiliy, Zentrival® HS enables quick spreading of the adhesive thereby increasing the labour efficiency. By virtue of its polymer base, the bonding strength is very high and therefore it reduces the maintenance cost incurred in costly scaffolding to replace the fallen tiles. On the whole and over all economy can be achieved, taking into consideration the long-term benefits achieved. The use of Zentriva®l HS eliminates the need of pre-wetting and batting of tiles thereby avoiding the breakages of costly tile, stones, marbles, etc. Zentrival® HS is suitable for tile on tile applications. Zentrival® HS can be called a universal bonding agent for fixing tiles, which can aid architects to design and implement various claddings and facades. Instructions for use Since Zentrival® HS is suitable for fixing tiles on several surfaces, the surface preparation will vary for each surface. As a guideline, all surfaces should be structurally sound, dry, and free from oil, greases, and remnants of mould release agents. Zentrival® HS is compatible with slightly wet or moist surfaces. Absorbent surfaces should be lightly moistened prior to application. Surfaces should be relatively even to enable saving the material. To bond uncommon surfaces a preliminary trial is recommended. In case of non-absorbent surfaces the tilling pattern should enable draining of the dispersion water in Zentrival® HS. Zentrival® HS is a ready to use paste. It should be applied to prepared surfaces by a smoothening trowel in 2mm thin layer. The surface should then be combed with a notched trowel to obtain ribbed pattern to save the material. The tiles should be placed in contact with the paste as soon as possible but in every case before the paste forms a film on the surfaces. The film formation time is about 25 to 30 minutes depending upon the ambient temperatures therefore apply only such quantity of Zentrival® HS on which the tiles can be fixed within the above time limits. In case of very high temperatures, it is recommended not to apply Zentrival® HS over 1m2 of area. In case of spot bonding of insulation boards etc. It is recommended to use minimum 8 spots of 4 cm diameter per square meter of area. The tiles should be placed in the paste with a slight twisting motion to ensure complete surface contact, no batting is necessary. Zentrival PL-Flex is based on high quality cements and other polymer raw materials and therefore develops high adhesion strengths. Zentrival PL-Flex is the latest generation tile adhesive that can replace the conventional method surfaces should be free from paints and surface laitance. If the surfaces are too rough, a smoothening plaster coat can be applied by adding Nafufill or Putz-Dichtament to plaster, to reduce the consumption of the material. The surfaces on which the tiles are to be applied are to be pre-wetted. Add Zentrival PL-Flex to water and not the reverse. Mix until a g p paste like consistency of the mortar is formed. Let the paste stand of fixing the tiles. Advantages Being saponification resistant, the strength of bed mortars is not lowered over a period of time. The strengths are about 3.5 to 4 times as compared to conventional tiling mortars. The tiles can be bonded by spot method. Zentrival PL-Flex does not shrink or crack It is easy to work with and ordinary laborers can easily p y p for about 5 - 10 minutes before application to enable the polymers to react. Mix only small quantities that can be used within 20 to 25 minutes. Apply Zentrival PL-Flex to the prepared surfaces by a plain trowel in about a thickness of 1-2 mm. It is easy to work For Marbles heavy tiles etc use Zentrival HS polymer based with and ordinary laborers can carry out the work. There is no need to wet the tiles prior to fixing. The work rhythm is faster and economy is derived from the fact that the output of the tile labor is 2 to 3 times to that by conventional methods. It is suitable for the tile fixing on all absorbent surfaces like cement plaster, gypsum boards, asbestos, panels, concrete etc. Instruction for use: For Marbles, heavy tiles, etc. use Zentrival HS, polymer based, ready to use tile adhesive. The thickness of layer should not exceed 5 mm. In case of adopting the spot bonding method of fixing tiles put at least 8 spots of about 4 cm diameter per m² area. The tools can be cleaned with water. The substrates should be structurally sound and free from oils, grease, and remnants of form oils or curing compounds. The surfaces should be free from paints and surface laitance. If the surfaces are too rough, a smoothening plaster coat can be applied. Nafufill or Putz-Dichtament admixed mortar can be used for this purpose, to reduce the consumption of Zentrival PL. The surfaces on which the tiles are to be applied should

Use : 14 days APPLICATION Surface Preparation : All surface must be sound and throughly cleaned before FAIRFIX MORTAR is applied. All traces of greases or oil must be removed with FM DEGREASER. All loose particles of mortar and points must be removed. Mixing : FAIRFIX MORTAR should be mixed with water in the ratio of 3:1 (FAIRFIX MORTAR : WATER) by volume. Water can be reduced or increased slightly to get required consistency. A slow speed drill attached with a suitable mixing paddle is recommended. Hand mixing may be allowed if drill/paddle is not available. After mixing wait for 5 miniutes then remix and use. Fixing of Tiles : FAIRFIX MORTAR should spread on the substrate to a uniform thickness of 3mm (minimum) by notched trowel. Choose work area so that they can be tiled in adhesive within the open time to obtain good adhesion to the substrate the following system is recommended. First apply a thin coat of FAIRFIX MORTAR by using the smooth side of the trowel and immediately afterwards apply the desired thickness of Fairfix Mortar using the toothed side of the trowel. Finishing : Remove excess adhesive with a damp cloth before material has set. Joint grouting may be commenced 24 hours after tiles have been laid. Additional Information : For filling tile joint FAIRFIX TG is used. Clean the joints and other containments such as effl orescence, laitance, dirt and other loose material using a grout raker. All joints should be made wet with clean water and ensure the joints are surface dry before application Note: Movement Joints should be provided in accordance with BS 5385 : part 1 - 5 and may be fi lled with the appropriate fl exible sealant. Intermediate fl oor joints should be reinforced with brass or stainless steel. Use stainless steel where hygiene is essential.
