All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of loose material, oil grease, etc. } Light grit blasting in case of concrete surface ensures better cleaning & bonding. } If possible wash the concrete surface thoroughly with water to clean dirt & dust which may hamper decorative effect & bonding of the coating } Remove entirely, any previous growth of fungus & algae, by vigorous wire brushing and cleaning with water. } Treatment with proper biocide solution is recommended prior to the application to ensure complete removal of algae / fungal growth. Previously painted surfaces } Alkyd Paint if any, should be sanded thoroughly to remove completely all loose particles. Mechanical methods are strongly suggested. } Exterior surface previously coated with cement paint should be wire brushed and washed with water thourghly and allowed to dry. } Treatment for algae / fungal growth remains same as stated earlier. } All cracks should be treated appropriately using elastomeric sealant. Do not use putty.

PAR CRYSTALLINE is a cementitious, brush applied, waterproofing treatment for concrete. When it is mixed with water & applied to concrete, it penetrates into the concrete mass protecting against the passage of water.

PAR CRYSTALLINE react chemically to form billions of needle like crystals which blocks the pores, voids & micro cracks in concrete.Pre saturation & subsequent re- wetting of the surface will cause deeper diffusion of the organic chemicals & formation of crystals at greater depth. It may take from seven days to one month to reach its maximum waterproofing capability, depending on the thickness of concrete. Environmental factors such as ambient temperature, density of concrete, moisture present & weather conditions all can effect the timing of sealing process. Under dry conditions, PAR CRYSTALLINE lies dormant. However it becomes reactive whenever it is re-exposed to moisture.
PAR CRYSTALLINE contains active waterproofing chemicals which react with moisture and unhydrated cement in the concrete, creating insoluble crystalline complexes which seal the capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks. They penetrate even against strong hydrostatic pressure, becoming an integral part of the concrete. The waterproofing chemicals remain active for the life of the structure, permanently sealing it from water penetration.

Cracks more than 5 mm and all separation gaps should be filled up with Dr.Fixit Pidicrete URP or Dr.Fixit Unibond SBR modified mortar or as specified. 2 Priming } Prime the surface with Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluted with potable water by volume in 2:1 ratio (2 parts primer and 1 part water) and allow it to dry for 2 to 3 hours

Method of Application 1 GENERAL SURFACE PREPARATION: } Surface needs to be made clean, dry and sound, free of any contamination by wire brushing, which may affect the adhesion of the membrane to the substrate. Substrate concrete compressive strength should be cured for 28 days and achieve minimum 20 MPa compressive strength. Wash the concrete substrate with water pressure jet to remove all loose particles and dust. } Ensure the substrate has properly cured and the concrete is profile free, no ridges or troughs. All contaminants should be removed by mechanical vacuum assisted preparation equipment such as scrabbling/shot blasting/ diamond grinding to achieve a light abrasive blast to achieve preferred surface profile of CSP 4 or CSP 5. } If concrete surface found to be defective with pinholes/bug roles/honeycombs etc., it must be filled/ repaired using scratch coat prepare by mixing Dr. Fixit Superseal P200 WB and Dr. Fixit Superseal P100 aggregates in 1:1 ratio. Apply the scratch coat by using suitable spatula/squeeze to get level surface for the upcoming primer. 2 REPAIR OF CRACKS AND CONSTRUCTION JOINTS: } Existing surface cracks which are more than 1 mm and construction joints should be cut open in square or V -groove manner up to 10 mm width by using mechanical cutter. } Clean the groove with air blower to remove dust, dirt etc. primmed the groove with Dr. Fixit Pidiprime A and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours. } Slide the Feviseal PU/Hybrid Sealant into the applicator gun; extrude the sealant into the cracks ensuring that no air is trapped inside. } The treated cracks require minimum 6 hours to set and allowed to cure completely for a day. (Self-curing according to the room temperature). 3 CORNER TREATMENT – WALL TO FLOOR AND WALL TO WALL JOINT: } Moisten the surface with water & apply a bonding coat of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP and cement (1:1) by volume on cleaned RCC surface. Place angle fillet / coving by using Polymer modified mortar prepare with 1 kg Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP, 5 kg fresh cement, and 15 kg graded quartz sand. (i.e., in the ratio of 1:5:15) on all along the joint RCC surface (slab and wall junction) and smooth finish. } Alternatively, V” grooves shall be cut along the wall & slab joints or construction joints for 10 x 10 mm using a hand cutter. } After cleaning the groove thoroughly, apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Pidiprime A primer and fill the gap with Feviseal Dr. Fixit TankPro W P

Severely corroded reinforcement may require replacement and the engineer must be consulted. 2 PRE-WETTING THE SUBSTRATE £ The concrete substrate must be saturated with water till saturated surface dry condition is achieved. Dr. Fixit Epoxy Zinc Primer is recommended for coating on steel reinforcement or steel surfaces as an anti corrosion primer. The product actively resists corrosion within the confines of the repair location and avoids the generation of incipient anodes in immediately adjacent locations. Method of Application 1 SURFACE PREPARATION } Expose fully any corroded steel in the repair area and remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits. Care should be taken to clean the back side of exposed steel bars as well. Grit blasting is recommended for this purpose. } The application of Dr. Fixit Epoxy Zinc Primer must take place immediately on a dry steel surface after completion of the preparation work and not later than three hours.

Mechanical fixation is recommended with BeSealed fixing glue for water swellable sealing profiles. Alternatively, Polybar+ can be fixed by nailing. USE  Designed for the easily applied sealing of construction joints in concrete and reinforced concrete construction. POLYBAR+ seals against non-pressing and pressing ground water up to 6 bar. POLYBAR+ can be used in repeated wet and dry cycles.  The sealing bars should in all instances be square butted and tight to ensure a continuous section with a minimum of 60mm concrete cover.  POLYBAR+ can be applied both vertically and horizontally but under no circumstances should it be used in expansion joints. APPLICATION  Mechanical fixation is recommended with BeSealed fixing glue. Alternatively, the Polybar+ sealing bar is fixed by nailing at aprox. 300mm centres.  The product can be adhered to concrete, steel and PVC pipe penetrations with BeSealed fixing glue.  The fixing glue ensures a good bond even on slightly uneven surfaces and wet concrete surfaces (See separate TDS for detailed information)  The use of a tying wire around POLYBAR+ in the case of securing it to PVC pipes is also recommended in conjunction with the adhesive.  For salt water environment, in polluted water conditions and in contact with manure and slurry, we recommend POLYBAR+ Salt (See separate TDS).

Packaging 1 ltr Method of Application 1 SURFACE PREPARATION } } Joint surfaces must be sound, thoroughly clean and dry and free from grease, oil any other contamination. All dust and debris must be removed by wire brushing, grinding and vacuuming. Damaged joints should be repaired using a suitable mortar from the Pidilite range. } } } Clean glass and metallic surfaces with acetone solvent to remove oil and other contaminants. } Fix masking tape on both sides of joint surface to provide a neat appearance. 2 APPLICATION } } } } Shake the container to disperse any settlement and brush apply two coats over the prepared surfaces allowing 30 minutes and a maximum of 3 hours between coats. } Allow the second coat to dry for 30 minutes and a maximum of 8 hours before application of sealant.
